Sunday Stealing--Bun Toting Librarian

Well, first of all, the title of this Sunday's steal cracked me UP!  Great choice, Bev.  If you want to join us, go here

1.      When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?

“You LOOK sick”.  Wednesday night, I started having cold symptoms or something.  Headache, body aches, cough, fuzz brain.  I slept 10 straight hours, which NEVER happens.  I’ve been vaccinated for COVID, but these days, you can’t be conservative about these kinds of symptoms, so off to Walgreens Hubs and I went for COVID tests and started quarantine.  I can’t bear the thought that I could infect anyone, so I just did the right thing.  Knocked off work early today, and slept for 3 hours straight in the middle of the afternoon.  UPDATE:  Negative.  What a relief.  I was shocked that my test came back in a little over 24 hours.  I got an email from Walgreens, followed by a text from the New Mexico Department of Health.  I love living in a state that takes this pandemic seriously.

2.      What shirt are you wearing?

A shirt my hubs got me.   I really loved the Jurassic Park movies, and this scene in particular.  Hubs thinks I’m clever I guess.

3.      Do you label yourself?

I suppose.  Woman.  Liberal.  Nurse.  Wife.  Daughter.  Mother.  Human.  Thinker.  Reader.  Neurodivergent.  I think we all label ourselves to some degree or another.

4.      What does your watch look like?

A FitBit Versa 3, with an analog face.

5.      What were you doing at midnight last night?

6.      Last furry thing you touched?

Ellie the cat.  Just had to move her from my side to get up and get a glass of water.

7.      Favourite age you have been so far?

I thought 40 was pretty great.

8.      What is your current desktop picture?

Two actually.  A photo of hubs and another photo of my brother, Dad, and hubs together.

9.      If you had to choose between $1,000,000 or to be able to fly what would it be?

Well, that’s easy.  Show me the money, as my Dad always used to say.

10.  The last song you listened to?

I have no clue, I’ve not been into music much lately, my tinnitus has been off the chain, so I’m taking a break.

11.  What do you do when vending machines steal your money?

I don’t put any more money in them.  I literally can’t recall the last time I even USED a vending machine.

12.  Would you move for the person you loved?

It would depend.  I did this way too many times in my youth.  Sometimes it worked out well, and other times it was an unmitigated cluster.

13.  Name three things that you have on you at all times?

At ALL times?  My wedding rings, my tats, and my underwear.

14.  What’s your favourite town/city?

It’s a 3-way tie between Santa Fe, NM; Old San Juan, Puerto Rico; and New Orleans, Louisiana.  Great food, great architecture, interesting stories.

15.  Does anything hurt on your body right now?

Pretty much everything, I’m not feeling well.

  1. my tinnitus is horrible now too... I mean I can't stand it! I didn't realize you were in NM... I'm now in Aurora (ewww) CO so not too far and we've considered moving to NM next. DH went to a zoom tour of VLF and would love to work there (he's an engineer) I'm relieved you didn't have covid. Despite having a Dem. gov. and all the vaccines we could need, people around us refuse to get them or wear masks. OMG...

  2. I'm very relieved you don't have covid! Not that garden variety flu is fun, but I had covid, and as my doctor patiently told me through the battle (and I had a mild case), "No one really knows anything about the corona virus yet." I'm also glad you could get a test! It's better to know than not know.

My tinnitus only distracts me in silence, because I never really get silence. (You know what I mean, don't you?) Then it sounds like I have a sea shell to me. I mean, it always sounds like that, but I'm hideously aware of the ocean in my head when the room is silent.

  3. So glad you were able to get your Covid test results so quickly! I had multiple exposures over a 2-week period and had a heck of a time scheduling tests (I had multiple tests to be absolutely certain). What a relief getting that negative result is, though, isn't it??

  4. I hope you feel better soon. I have had a lot of kids out sick with coughing and such. They look terrible. I am glad you did not have covid. Take care! Loved your answers! Have a nice day.

  5. I am so glad you don't have Covid, but really sorry you don't feel well. It's easy to forget all the other crud is still out there when the focus is on Covid. Take care of yourself.

I hate the whole moderating thing, so I'm going to try Captcha instead. We'll see. Let me know if you hate it.
